Remember Yourself as Light

Introduction:
This meditation is nr 75 out of 112 tantric meditation techniques  
from The Vigyan Bhairav Tantra.
These 5000 years old techniques is described by Osho in The Book of Secrets.
Osho tells us in this book why these meditations 
are still useful for the modern man. 

Instructions for the meditation:

Stage 1 – 10 minutes
Sit, eyes closed, feeling your heart.
In your heart a flame is burning.
The flame can be any colour, any size.
Feel the warmth, the light.
A flame is burning in your heart.

Stage 2 – 10 minutes
With total presence, move in a slow walk, eyes lowered.
Your body is just an aura of light around the flame.
Let the body make any slow movements it wants while walking

Stage 3 – 20 minutes
Dance like a flame,
flickering, warm,
consuming everything.
Stay aware 
that in your heart a flame is burning
and your body is light.

Stage 4 – 15 minutes
Lie down in silence,
aware of the inner flame.

Introduction: 
Osho describes that our mind can be divided in three parts:
Waking, sleeping, dreaming.
There is a fourth part as well: Consciousness,
This is not part of the mind,
and in the East it is simply called The Fourth - Turiya.

The first three parts can be compared with the clouds, the fourth with the sky.

Step 1
Start taking this technique into the waking part of your life.
Do not tell anybody.
Imagine that you are a flame that moves
and your body is just a light around the flame.
Imbibe it.
In the end you will be able to remember it the whole day. 
Within about three month,
others will become aware that something has happened to you.
They will feel a subtle light around you.
When you come near them, they will feel a different warmth.
If you touch them, they will feel a fiery touch.
At this time you can enter the second step, not before it.

Step 2
Now you can take the meditation into dreaming
It has become a reality. 
You are a flame that burns. 
You are light.
Imbibe it.
Through imagination you have uncovered a reality.
Everything consists of light.
You are light.
While falling asleep, go on thinking of the flame,
See it, feel it, you are the light.
When in all your dreaming this reality is revealed,
your dreams will disappear.
Now you can go on to the next step.

Step 3
Once you enter sleep with the feeling that you are a flame, 
you will be aware in it.
The sleep will now happen only to your body, not to you.

Step 4

Through using this technique you have passed beyond the three stages:
Waking, sleeping, dreaming.
Now you can see the sky.
Your body needs fuel, it needs rest.
Consciousness needs no rest,
It is pure energy, perpetual, eternal energy.

Then you can awaken to that which you are
The fourth – turiya.
